How to Use Cadillac Super Cruise

If you’ve just brought home a new vehicle that’s equipped with Cadillac Super Cruise, you’re probably excited to start using it! At the same time, you want to be able to enjoy the freedom of hands-free driving with complete confidence. Here’s how to activate hands-free driving when you hit the highway in Lady Lake:

1. First, activate Adaptive Cruise Control by pressing the button on your steering wheel. 
2. Set your speed. You’ll notice that the indicator changes from white to green.
3. The Super Cruise indicator will appear automatically (as a white dashboard light) if you are on a road that has been approved for Super Cruise and all other conditions” are met.

4. When you see the Super Cruise dash light, press the steering wheel button to engage Super Cruise. Keep your hands on the wheel until the Super Cruise dashboard light bar appears and turns green.
5. Super Cruise will now control your speed, maintain appropriate following distance, and keep you centered in your lane.
6. To retake control and exit Super Cruise, you can either press the Super Cruise button or apply the brake.

When Not To Use Cadillac Super Cruise

Cadillac Super Cruise is a powerful technology, but it’s not designed to be used all the time. You should retake control of the vehicle when:

• Entering a tunnel or a construction zone.
• Entering and exiting the freeway.
• There is no divider between your lane and oncoming traffic.
• Inclement weather in Gainesville is causing troublesome road conditions.
• Driving conditions become uncertain or challenging.
• Lane markings are hard to see or visibility is low.

You also shouldn’t engage Super Cruise when towing a trailer—for now! Select GM models in the coming few years will be able to tow while using hands-free technology.
